Online Marketing Ideas
Every home based or small business needs to be working on online marketing to increase the number of visitors and potential customers they can attract to their company. We have put together some online marketing ideas for small business below.
Website optimization
It is very important to have a website that meets Google guidelines so if you know little or nothing about search engine optimization then you should get an online marketing company to analyse your site and fix any problems and errors.
This includes registering and optimizing your Google My Business account, signing up for analytics either with Google (free) or other services to track your visitor numbers and Google Webmasters which helps you make sure your site does not have errors. These steps will help your website ranking.
Local Business Directories.
As a small company selling locally you will want to sign up to as many relevant local directories as you can, these are sites like Yelp which lists local businesses. These provide very good authority to your site, taken into account by Google when ranking your site.
Online Marketing Campaign Ideas
1. PPC or pay per click
Whether your company is small or large or home based, if you need visitors quickly and as long as you track your pay per click campaign properly then there is nothing wrong with using PPC to get your business a much needed visitor and customer boost.
2. Facebook Ads
Facebook have been running ads for some time. This is another of the ideas for quick visitors if you’re happy to run a paid ad budget. They come in different types, some are to boost facebook posts or videos which can help if you’re using Facebook as an online marketing method for your compa. Alternatively you can run ads to your site but be careful to read the rules, it’s important to make sure you run ads within Facebook guidelines to avoid getting your account banned. You can start your ad campaign small and scale up any successful ads.
3. Youtube video ads
The last of the paid ad ideas is Youtube. Youtube now allows video ads, these are run either ‘in-stream’ where they appear at the start of videos where the video owner has opted to allow advertising, or ‘in post’ where ads appear in someone’s FB timeline between posts. There is lots of targeting available. As with Google though you need to track and be careful so you run efficient ad campaigns.
4. Blog
Less costly ideas to get online visitors includes blogs. Run a blog on your website and add extra content regularly, at least twice a week, with videos wherever possible. This will help keep visitors interested and encourage return visits and also help your search engine ranking.
5. Video Marketing
As well as using videos in your blog and website, you can use Youtube, Vimeo, Daily Motion and others to post videos. With links back to your company webpage these will help your authority as well as getting extra visitors to your home or small business. You can put calls to action in the videos so if someone likes what they see they click the call to action and get taken to your website.
